Our Verdict

Our main impression of this pedal is that it is a more practical version of a desktop guitar processor – one that can be used as a genuine floor pedal while still being used at home. To use the treadle-equipped models, you’d have to have seriously strange leg joints or be ready to stand on your desk, of course!

Because Vox is a Korg company, we can notice similarities between this and the Pandora family of processors, which have a similar design in terms of the multi-effects chain and breadth of effects offered. So, yeah, the StompLab series is great for simply plugging in and having access to a vast range of sounds for practice via headphones – plus it’s portable.

The IIG is clearly durable enough for stage use as a pedal connected between guitar and amp, and it’s probably compact enough to not generate too much clutter on your pedalboard if you intend to use it with other pedals.

Finally, the most impressive aspect of this pedal is its value for money – you get a lot of bang for your buck here.
