Description

In this review post we’re going to be discussing the Fulltone ’70 BC‌-108C Fuzz Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal, including an overview of its unique features.

Product Description

The Fulltone 70-BC is back in an OCD-sized casing! Fulltone is pleased to announce the reintroduction of the 70 Fuzz pedal, this time in a compact (OCD-sized) casing, thanks to a recent discovery of a couple of thousand outstanding BC108C transistors. These transistors sound incredible, and the resulting 70-BC Fuzz pedal retains the hidden weapon “Mid” knob, which allows you to achieve something that other Fuzzfaces won’t: be heard in the mix! Have you ever heard of the renowned original fuzz from circa 1970? If so, you’re aware that it’s not the same sound as those currently being mass-produced under the same brand.

The Fulltone 70-BC features two deliberately mismatched (for harmonic content) silicon transistors that snarl and spit—not for the faint of heart! If you turn up the “Fuzz” to 10, you’ll rip, and you’ll probably get all kinds of oscillation and craziness, but that’s what rock is all about, right? Don’t try to use it with a wah wah—you can’t, and Jimi can’t, without it screaming and wailing. Do you want someone to be courteous and quiet?

You’ll have to look elsewhere. Do you want to buy art in a box? Please come in! The 70-BC pedal is housed in a 16-gauge steel box and powder coated Deep Blue, and it is a touch unruly but with some warmth. It is suited for older, four-input Marshall amps, and it has far more fuzz than the ’69 Pedal and features a Mid control for added clarity and cut. Specifications are subject to change at any time owing to availability of parts and whimsy.

Our Verdict

While Fulltone 70 is inspired by the old Fuzzface, it is not an identical duplicate. It provides more fuzz than the 69 and any other comparable pedal on the market. It has various features such as a mid control, an internal bias trim pot, custom manufactured quality components, a tiny size to fit any pedalboard, a durable casing, and many more. Above all, this excessive distortion is relatively inexpensive.
