Our Verdict

Ideal as an introduction package or as a second interface. It sounds good, operates right away, and is built to last.

The new Komplete Audio USB audio interfaces are delightfully easy, beautiful to look at, well-designed, sturdy, and portable. At this pricing, the driver architecture and performance are exceptional. Do the extra features of the Komplete Audio 6 MkII justify paying nearly double the price of the KA1 or KA2?. The second headphone output is useful, and the MIDI interface can be a lifesaver, as small hardware synths keep appearing on my desk. With more I/O, it becomes a more adaptable interface, as well as one that is more reassuringly cased in metal. The cherry on top, without a doubt, is the DC-coupled outputs, which, while not ideal, will open up a whole new way of interacting.
